Sametime Awareness in the Notes Client

I noticed that in my mailfile, I could only see the Sametime status of people who's sender address is in the format Frank.van.der.Linden@e-office.com (which happen to be most of my Microsoft colleagues).
I could not see the Sametime status of my colleagues who's sender address is in the format Frank van der Linden/EOF/EOG.
You can adjust this behaviour by changing the following option:
  • in your Notes client, go to File - Preferences
  • open the Sametime section
  • double-click on Server Communities
  • click on your Sametime server and go to the Options tab
  • check the  "Use cannonical names for status lookups" option
  • click Apply - OK
  • Re-opening my mailfile did the trick, one of my colleagues had to restart hist Notes client however.
