As I wrote in this item I added VPS_BYPASS_SINGLE_MACHINE_LOGIN=1 to sametime.ini to solve an issue we had since we upgraded our Sametime server to Sametime 8.0.2. It now turns out that adding this entry has a rather nasty side-effect.....

If a user is logged in to Sametime from is BlackBerry and later signs in to Sametime using the Connect client or Notes integrated client from his/her PC the session on the BlackBerry is not logged out (obviously!). All incoming chats will still go to the BlackBerry.

So now users have to remember to log on/off whenever they want to use Sametime on a different device.

Comments

Gravatar Image1 - Interesting..... Do chats appear on all logged in clients (BB and PC), like Google Talk does? Or do they only appear on one of the devices (perhaps then the one that's logged in first?)?

Gravatar Image2 - Unfortunately enough they only appear on the one that logged in first...
