Domino server and Notes client outages after updating Trend Micro Pattern File

Question
You are experiencing multiple Lotus® Domino® server or Lotus Notes® client outages. Additionally, the host operating system hangs. You are also unable to access the server using Remote Desktop. In some cases, you notice that rebooting the OS takes longer than expected.
The issue surfaced after you updated the Trend Micro OfficeScan Pattern files.
If you disable the OfficeScan Services, the outages no longer occur.

Answer
New Pattern Files are updated frequently. There are several workarounds.
Workarounds:
Do one of the following:
Roll back to pattern 4.993.
Using OfficeScan UI: Go to the OfficeScan Console and click the Rollback option on the left hand menu. You can roll back multiple versions if needed. Select Updates -> Disable Updates.

Disable the Trend Micro OfficeScan Listener, Personal Firewall and RealTime Scan services until an update to the latest pattern file is available via auto-update or from the Trend Micro web site.
Disable the following three services on all of the Domino servers:
OfficeScanNT Listener
OfficeScanNT Personal Firewall
OfficeScanNT RealTime Scan
Install the latest Pattern File (5.105.00) which is available through the Auto Update function, or from the Trend Micro web site. Check with Trend Micro to confirm the latest Pattern File version.
